Floors That Look Brand New Without Replacing a Single Tile : A Case Study

A busy daycare center was ready for a floor refresh, and our team was ready to deliver. We built a plan to bring every floor in the building back to life.

What we started with

The vinyl composition tile (VCT) in the classrooms and hallways had turned dull and grey. Grime had worked into the seams. The restroom floors looked stained and tired. The rubber entryway flooring had lost its color under layers of tracked-in dirt that mopping alone couldn’t solve. At a glance, it looked like the floors had simply worn out.

What we did

Our team performed a full strip and wax service throughout the facility, focused on restoring the existing floors and bringing back their original integrity. We deep-scrubbed the edges and corners, where grime builds up the most.

The result

The before-and-after photos speak for themselves. The tile shows its true color again, and the blue accent squares pop. The hallways have a bright, even shine. The restrooms are clean and cared for.

Our favorite moment came when the team was asked if the baseboards had been replaced. They hadn't. They were just clean.

Why it matters

For a daycare, clean floors aren't just about appearance. Children play, crawl and sit on them all day. Worn finish gives dirt and germs a place to hide. A freshly sealed surface is smooth and nonporous, which makes daily cleaning and disinfecting far more effective. Parents and staff notice the difference the moment they walk in the door.
